Geocache Description:

Mote Park is a popular walking and amenity area for Roscommon town and surrounding areas. Mote Park estate, was once the demesne of the Croftons. The estate dates back to Elizabethan times. John Crofton was the first occupier. Known for it 's forest setting which totals 650 acres and provide habitats for many species of wildlife, both common and rare, including the red squirrel and pine marten. There are numerous rest- places throughout the woods.

There are thousands of trees in the park.But this one was created for geocaching. It's standing just on the side of the road less then 50m from parking place. Cache is small plastic tube with log sheet,pencil and few items to trade.Small TB will fit in it.The place can be very busy on a fine day.
