Long Bin is interim housing, which is temporary housing in Hong Kong for those not eligible for a flat in a public housing estate, but affected by disaster, fire, and redevelopment. It replaced Temporary Housing Area with buildings that are more resilient and space saving. Long Bin is built by pre-fabricated building components.
The facilitates and environment of interim housing are poorer than public housing estates. Residents complains about water leakage after heavy rain, unstable power supply, poor public transport.
Long Bin interim housing will be destructed and develops as public housing estate on 2020.

朗邊中轉房屋前身為朗邊臨時房屋區。朗邊中轉房屋，向有公屋需要的市民提供臨時居所，等候公屋編配早於一九九九年落成，共有八座三至五層高的臨時住所，是現存唯一以以預製組件搭建的中轉房屋，設備配套差，沒有升降機，共有八百四十個單位。居民投訴環境欠佳，有漏水，電力系統不勝負荷常「跳掣」。房委會策劃小組昨通過清拆朗邊中轉屋，擬改建二千至三千個公屋單位，預料二○二○年落成。現時朗邊中轉屋有數百名住戶，部分將於清拆前獲公屋安置，餘下約一百戶則會搬遷至屯門寶田中轉屋。
