In limestone country, managing water for people and livestock is important. Where springs or seeps exist is often where farms and villages grew up. Silverdale has many 'lumps' of outcropping limestone and a few boggy places in between.
This is a short walk to a couple of nice 'corners' of this lovely landscape and can easily be extended for a longer outing if desired. There are limited parking opportunities - the lanes are narrow - so we suggest using the waypoint below at Bank Well and near this cache.
Park on the North side of the road, small pull-in opposite the sign post. Bank Well is a small pond with a fair amount of 'nature' colonising it; good for wildlife. Follow the nice path on the west side, which goes past a platform for pond dipping, and joins the footpath - turn right. Trees don't help the GPS signal!
No need to leave the path to find the cache.
