UPDATE JULY 2022: The original cache container was likely washed away during heaving rains earlier in the year. In order to make this cache more accessible and resilient to flooding, it has been reduced in size and re-located to the western end of the bridge, you should not have to venture too far off the path to find it.
The Ponds is a new suburb of Sydney located 40 kilometres north-west of the CBD. It's name was designed to reflect the geography of the area and was derived from the nearby Second Ponds Creek. The creek meanders through an 80 hectare bushland corridor running North-South through the middle of the suburb, and a 4-kilometer cycleway network has been constructed through this nature reserve. The cycleway is popular not only amongst cyclists but also joggers, you might also see plenty of families out walking in the early evening.
This is our very first geocache hide and has been placed near the northern end of the cycleway. The cache contains a small assortment of swappable items for kids, and should be easy for kids and adults to find. Be mindful of muggles however you should have ample opportunity to search without being disturbed if you pick the right time. This cache may also be attempted at night but you will most likely need a torch as the area is not well lit.
