Geocache Description:

You are welcome to attend an event on Thursday 7th November 2013 in the cafe of the National Space Centre, Leicester.

The event will run between 10:00 hrs and 15:00 hrs.

There is no entry fee to the cafe, there is an entrance fee to the centre, (details can be found on their web-site).

Rick Mastracchio, the geocaching astronaut is taking a travel bug with him into Space.
The full details can be found on the geocaching.com blog here.

The launch time is scheduled for 04:08hrs on 07/11/2013.  To mark this occasion Groundspeak are issuing a souvenir to all of the cachers who attend an event over the two day period, 06/11/2013 - 07/11/2013. This is a daytime event for those of us who are not mad enough to get up at 04:00 hrs.
We know that this is a work day, but the Space Centre gets rave reviews, it is on our doorstep and it is very relevant to the occurrence and the souvenir.

So come along , sign the ships log and gain a souvenir. Maybe have a quick photo in the National Space Centre too.

There will be a number of gifts for the kids, a tombola type game to raise money for a local charity,

and we will also be available to take your sealed bids for the GeM Charity Auction.

The winning prize being an amazing Ammo Can stuffed with Geocoins and Trackables kindly donated by GeM members and friends of the group. Here's a link to the "Just Giving" page where you can find out more about the charity and the auction.

Go to JUST GIVING for more information.

Everyone will be made welcome, and we hope that this can mark the launch of a new chapter in the regions caching community too.

Please let us know if you are attending with kids as we have some caching 'swag bags' to give out.

The idea for this event was discussed on the GeM Facebook page, the location, (which has to be the most appropriate in the UK) was mentioned by Team Kennedy, thanks Paul.
