Bitchy Tower Traditional Geocache

 

One of the characteristic architectural remnants of the glorious past of Andros are those square tall towers on the main land. The oldest structure remaining is the three-storey tower Bisti Mouvela. The building went through at least three phases of reconstruction and the former can be dated in the 13th century, built on medieval ruins or even Byzantine. The entrance was first through the cellars but in the existing construction, it is supported by a rotating staircase with balcony. Also common among nobles, the roof shelters a pigeon house.
