When I first began exploring Downtown Long Beach, I noticed this awesome Promenade. Around the same time, the city began work on a park in the middle of Promenade in honor of Harvey Milk. I thought it was somewhat random to see an icon from my home town of San Francisco being honored here. This was before this park was finished and I learned about long history of equality movement in Long Beach.

I invite you to come and check out this newly finished park as part of this very nice public space. From the cache, enter the promenade and walk left toward the mural. When you reach the equality plaza, take a moment to read about Harvey Milk, check out one of the world's largest mosaics and have fun on your stroll!
