Geocache Description:

It's October 31st and Jane is having an AWFUL day.  Everyone is asking her to lend a hand but things keep going wrong. This multi has 6 stages. The coordinates for the first five stages are provided and best done in order. At each of these five stages you will be given clues to help you determine where to find the final cache using the equation below. There is a small FTF prize. Enjoy this little Halloween adventure and the story that goes along with it (please keep in mind that I am not a great story-teller so try to bear with me)

Neighbour #1

Jane is outside doing some yard work when her neighbor John (who lives at N 50 53.723 W 114 12.574) asked if she would help him with a project. "I just need to cut one piece of wood" John explained. So, they headed into the garage where Jane was instructed to hold the piece of wood while he made the cut. As he hacked the saw back and forth successfully for a while, they were making good progress. However, just as the piece of wood was nearly sawed in half, it suddenly slipped from John's grip and oops....... it cut off Jane's thumb!!!

Neighbour #2

Jane was hurrying home when she passed by Nora's house at N 50 54.195 W 114 12.577. "Jane dear, can you please give me a hand over here" Nora shouted. Now, if you know anything at all about Jane, you know that she has an extremely difficult time saying "no", especially to her sweet neighbour Nora. "I have to get this grass cut but there's something wrong with the lawn mower. Could you please take a look at it for me dear"? Jane just couldn't say no, so she decided to take a look. However, just as she reached underneath to inspect it, the lawn mower suddenly started back up on its own and yikes..... it cut off Jane's index finger!!!

Home (waypoint #3)

With the lawn mower now mysteriously working on its own, Jane continued home to N 50 54.738 W 114 12.586. She was extremely hungry from all the hard work and decided to fix herself a snack. She was slicing an apple (as best as she can without an index finger or thumb) when the knife slipped and......you guessed it!! She cut her middle finger right off, uh-oh!!

Neighbour #4

By now Jane's feeling quite distraught. She's starting to wonder if perhaps she should make her way to a hospital when she gets a frantic call from her mother-in-law Betty. "Jane, I can't shut this darn old window and the draft is making me sick". Once again, Jane just cannot say no so she decides to stop by on her way to the hospital. She arrived at N 50 54.575 W 114 13.974 and headed right in. "It's the one in my bedroom" her mother-in-law instructed. Jane walked up the old rickety staircase and headed into the bedroom and decided to try her hand at this jammed window. She pushed and pried at that darn window and without realizing it, she rested her injured hand on the window sill. Unfortunately for her, the window finally gave way and slammed right down on her hand.... and hard!! Ouch.... her ring finger was crushed and sliced right off! Jane is finally starting to realize that she should really get herself to a hospital. Her mother-in-law walks in and sees the bedroom window shut. "Oh, thank you so much darling. You are the first person I call when I need a hand with something. Mrs. Jones, just down the street, has been complaining about her broken blender for days now, and you know how she loves her prune juice. I told her that you would drop by after leaving my place". Before Jane could say a word, her mother-in-law was already on the phone with Mrs. Jones to inform her that Jane was on her way. "Ummm... okay, Jane muttered". "This is the last one" Jane promised herself as she walked out the door.

Neighbour #5

Jane soon arrived at Mrs. Jones' house (N 50 55.038 W 114 13.971) and rang the bell. "Oh I'm so happy to see you" she exclaimed. Jane's feeling very irritated by this time (as I'm sure you are from reading this entire story) and decides to get right to work. She discovers that the bottom of Mrs. Jones' blender was full of prune pits (which apparently she couldn't see due to her poor eyesight) so she gets right in there and starts scooping them out. She successfully unjams the mess but Mrs. Jones forgot to turn the blender off and the blade started right back up. You'll never guess what happened next.......yup, off with her pinky!!

Final

With all the clues found at the above waypoints, help Jane find her way to the nearest hospital using the equation below. Luckily, the doctors were able to re-attached all of Jane's fingers but just as the surgery was coming to an end, the light fixture in the OR fell and...... you'll find out what happened once you locate the final cache!
