A fairly easy hide very near the road. Container is a medium sized Camoed plastic jar with log book and many trade items. It is about 1.5 miles from the parking area and the end of the road. Interesting views of the dam and power plant area from here. A presidential gold dollar is for the FTF.
This is on a paved road that is used for hiking and biking now. This is part of hwy 195 that went across the dirt dam and continued on across Elephant Butte dam. This section has been closed since 9-11 as have all dams in this country. There is a large parking area. A parks pass or day pass is required as this is state park. Access to this cache is at exit 83 off I-25 and follow 195. Views of the lake and dam areas are excellent. This cache is wheelchair friendly although there is some grades and the distance should be a consideration. Permission to place this cache was from Kay Dunlap, park superintendent.
