Geocache Description:

Dingo Peak (at 744m) is one of the highest in the Manning Valley, and rarely visited, so why not encourage those intrepid geocaching explorers with a piece of Tupperware (well, it is inside a burnt out ammo can)! And the views are great too. You may want to use the Knorrit Flat 1:25,000 map, 9334-3-N (2nd ed.) to plan on how to get to GR218798 (AGD66)

The "Danse Macabre" is: a medieval dance in which a skeleton representing death leads a procession of others to the grave (thefreedictionary.com). I can't promise the same experience that I had in placing the cache, but you need good navigation skills and suredness of foot. There are some steep rocky patches, and lots of bushbashing. You may find a few pink ribbons that 'mark' where some bushwalkers had blazed a way.

After dropping by the Knodingbul BD Ballet cache, walk or drive up the dirt track East until you have to choose the bush-bashing route. There is a veritable forest of cycads to fight through depending on where you go. A sturdy stick is highly recommended, a) to help support you as you climb, b) to steady you as your foot goes through the leaf litter into one of the many crevices, or c) to be prepared if you see a snake – which I didn't; but take a good First-aid kit anyway and a phone. Also, recommend you take some gloves to avoid dozens of ‘splinters’ from the tree ferns and 'wait-a-while' vines. A litre of water each should get there and back

Even tho' you probably don't need a GPSr to find the cache you will need it to find your way back to where you marked your car. You just need to find the rock cairn of the old trig station. My 20m contour mapping shows that my coords may be out a bit, even though the topographic map indicates that they should be good.

Did you know that NSW has a geocaching association? Geocaching NSW aims to enhance and improve the activity of geocaching and holds regular events where geocachers meet to enjoy their common interests. Visit the association website here.
