Geocache Description:

One of a series of simple, easy to find, caches at railway stations in and around the Manawatu.

Welcome aboard the MCC's Sanson tramway service to Sanson! Last stop Campbelltown, next stop Pennys.

Makowhai (occasionally mis-spelled "Makowai") is another farming community, created from land gifted to returned WWI soldiers. There was even a school house here. The station was another shelter shed and platform pick up and drop off point, and a drop off point for the Manawatu County Council for their road metal, taken either from the gravel pit on Speedy Road or from the Rangitikei River shore at Pukenui.

Warning: The rail has been removed, State Highway 1 has been widened and its drainage improved. Parking is not the best. Please take care! The owner of the adjacent property knows about the cache and is expecting you.
