There once was a cache here, seems to have disappeared. With respect to the previous owner we would like to continue job. Nestled in the Village of Hampton this sits with the Resting Spot of some of the original Hampton Settlers. The following is taken from Memories of a Village called Hampton written by a local(thank you)...In 1847, the Bible Christian's Church built a frame church with an ajoining cemetary on what is now King Lane. The church was used for 27 yrs when the plans for a new church were revealed.....A parsonage cottage was also built across the st. and still remains. The church was located north of the cemetary and was demolished before 1939........there is a story, in 1837 a man by the name of Mr. Hambley walked all the way from Purple Hill while carrying his deceased young son, just to have him buried in the Hampton Bible Christian Cemetary. Here also is the final resting place of the villages founders and its earliest settlers including Yeos, Kerslakes, Burrows, Elliotts, Roaches, Okes, Elfords and Johns. Interesting little place.
