OEC on the Tall Mountain Traditional Cache

OEC on the Tall Mountain is located at the summit of Alta Sierra on the Greenhorn Summit. You walk on the scenic Unal Trail, and then there is a hike up to the high point of the area where the cache is. The forest is beautiful in this area, and the Unal Trail is fantastic. There are also multiple geocaching opportunities along the way.

To get to the cache hike about 1.5 miles up the Unal Trail to Unal Peak (6861') where you will see a chair, and an elevation post. Hike south on the use trail that follows the ridge .75 miles through the dense forest.Information about the hike to Alta Sierra Peak including a KML file can be located here. 

The ammo box cache is filled with swag, and was initially placed with: a magnetic A, elastic neon rope, a blue highlighter, bungee cord, a silver cross, $.83, Hannah Montana Magnet, shine clip, orange mask, pink necklace, rainbow bracelet, beadwork (native American from Catie and Olga), 8 minature dice, flower pin, a bag with an acorn and heart, lighthouse pin, patriotic carabeaner, beaded eagle, 1964 Candian coin, sheep pin, breast cancer awareness bracelet, butterfly pin, forever strong, Psalm 23 bracelet. The ammo box is sitting on the cairn that marks the summit of Alta Sierra Peak.
