Sometimes caches are placed randomly with absolutely no thought put into them, merely for the love of the hobby. Some caches have significant meaning and may be very personal to the owner. This paritcular cache is somewhere in the middle. I knew for some time now that I wanted to place this cache, but I couldn't think of exactly the right place for it, so I have patiently waited to find the perfect location, and with the help of the love of my life, today was the day! After searching several other locations over the past several weeks, this one was absolutely spot on. Not only was it the exact fit for what I needed, but the surrounding area is also of some significance to me. I was never really athletically talented, although I played several sports as a kids, and football was one of them. I played football at all the nearby fields here, and I was carted off in an ambulance more times than I want to remember haha.
The cache itself is a symbol of my love for rock and roll. In an age where music (if you can even consider it that) has changed so drastically over the years, I wanted to place a cache that I hope will stand the test of time and the ever-changing culture in which we live. This particular cache is a tribute to just one of the many great bands (and singers) which I grew up listening to. I would ask that if you understand the connection and would like to post, please feel free to add a hashmark at the end of your log with the name of your favorite song from the artist; but this is completely optional and voluntary.
Just as a side note, this cache can be reached from either side of the area. Enjoy this newly renovated piece of history, and ride off with your favorite tune pumping from your stereo (or at least in your head!).
