Geocache Description:

Adding to the McLeods Serie of Geo-caches, all are winter friendly and can be found hanging in trees. Please replace it where you found it and be sure the lid is closed. Be aware of others around and be respectful. Please enjoy the trail system and kindly pick up some garbage on your way out that others were disrepectful enough to toss.

Once you cross the stream at the reference point you will see another trail leading to the west. Be cautious, the water system can flash during rain events or snow melt and make it difficult to cross. Find your way to the open pasture, be mindful of the seasons as there can be standing water and puddles, wear proper foot wear. When you spot the apple tree be aware that they are Hawthorn trees protecting it, they have thorns that can hurt so watch your eyes. When I placed the cache the tree was full of huge apples, a bit bitter to taste but filled me up.

Wild apples are a favorite food for white-tail deer and other animals such as racoons, rabbits, coyotes and foxes.

Bet you notice more apple trees on your way out then you did on the way in.
