This event is really an excuse to get together near the day that our 12 Days of Cachemas series is launched. Also of course to hang out with other cachers and connect a username with a face!

The new series consists of 12 caches released one at a time over a period of 3 weeks. You must find the first 11 caches in order to obtain the coordinates for the final cache.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

There will be a raffle drawing for a special GRAND PRIZE! ! (Participation is optional.) In order to get a raffle ticket for the grand prize, please bring a can of food. This can be people food or pet food. You will receive ONE raffle ticket for EACH can of food donated. The prize is something that you will definitely want to win, so we encourage more than one can!!! The cans will be donated to a food bank or the local Humane Society. You must be present to win.

There will also be a drawing for a few fun items. Everyone attending will get a ticket for the drawing. Some of the drawing items may contain the coordinates to the first two or three caches of the series being launched.

There will be a fun geo-game. See below. NOTE: Even if you cannot attend the event, you may still participate in the envelope game. Just hide your cache, give the envelope to a friend who is attending, and ask them to exchange it on your behalf. ( Thanks to RSArizona for this idea.)

There will be the usual trackable bins and trackable discover bins. (Please log trackables soon after the event.).

The Envelope Game

We are going to be playing an interesting little game, and of course participation is optional. It's sort of like secret santa with a twist. If you do decide to play, please follow the instructions carefully, as you have to prepare for the game BEFORE the event.

The game rules:

Each person must hide a surprise box somewhere, before the day of the event. This box can be like a cache to go along with the geocaching theme. (However it is not a cache, as it is temporary, has no web page and no log book.) .Hide it well enough that it won't get muggled before the event. Note the coordinates.

Write down the coordinates (please be as accurate as possible!) to the location of your hidden box. Place the coordinates in an envelope and seal it. (You decide for yourself if you want this to be anonymous or not.)

Bring the envelope with you to the event, and place it in the designated basket. Claim a numbered ticket for your envelope.

We will then draw envelopes randomly out of the basket, in the order according to your numbered ticket. Only those who brought an envelope will be given a ticket and be allowed to draw an envelope. One envelope is traded for one envelope, so each person in your family wants to play the game, then each person must bring an envelope in order to get one. Also, one person can bring more than one envelope (with a different box hidden for each one) , as many as you wish. You will then receive that many tickets.

Rules about the hidden boxes:

All box locations should be terrain 1.5 or less, and keep the difficulty at a reasonable level. The fun of this is not meant to be in a difficult hunt but of finding a nice surprise cache that for once, you can take home! Also, the box should be hidden in the local Tucson area.

You can do anything you want when you create your box as far as contents and containers, but since it is part of this festive game maybe put a little effort into it, in whatever way you wish. You don't have to spend a lot of money to make this fun. Be creative. Anytime after the event, even next week, you may go and find your box/es and take it home!

If you have any questions, please contact us through the profile or post a write note log. ( You might want to read through the write note logs.)

Notes to self for next year: have a specific list for minimum content of caches. No tickets needed for env. Have people sign out trackables. Do an icebreaker so mill around more. Tell people not to hide cache near the event. Minimum to hide no more than 5 miles away. To thank people. Share what they got.
