KK 2K Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Borst68: Stopped by to day to check it out on a beautiful sunny day in Lockport. Leg 1 was right where I left it. The final had been compromised. I found both halves of the container right where I left it but the log book was gone. I picked up the container and grabbed leg 1 on the way back. This one is toast. The area is now open for someone else to place a cache that I can (hopefully) find before it gets muggled. I have had more trouble back here with this cache as well as my previous one. Its still a cool place to visit and there are several great views off the escarpment but I am tired of constantly replacing things back here.

As for the puzzle, all you needed to do was figured out the coords were in Russian. Google Translate quickly gets you the coords.

Thanks to all who have found this cache. Many posted their logs in Russian, which KK found entertaining.

See ya on the trail...

Geocache Description:

This cache is in honor of KK2005 finding his 2000th cache.  Cache is not at the posted coordinates.  To find the coordinates you must solve the puzzle.

The idea for this has been kicking around in my head for some time.  Recently, when KK stopped by my office, I commented that I was planning a cache in his honor.  He looked at me and said "please don't".  I replied with maniacal laughter, of course.

Since KK and I work on solving puzzles quite often, it was natural to make the tribute cache a puzzle.  But WHAT puzzle would I do?  I thought of making something super hard.  Something with digits of Pi, the Fibonacci Series, Enigma cipher and possibly an isosceles triangle .  The problem was the he would be the only one who would ever solve it and find it.

Then I thought of making something easy for everyone but tough for him.  A puzzle involving 70's and 80's TV icons!  That would get him good.  Benji, the Olsen twins, Major Steve Austin, Daisy Duke...  He would spend MONTHS on the solution for that.  But I thought that would be mean.  It would be funny but it would still be mean.

In the end I decided to make something easy for EVERYONE.  Solve the puzzle below to get the coords.  Two stage.  Lock-N-Lock at the final.

Северный сорок три градуса десяти пунктов восемьсот пятьдесят один
Запад семьдесят восемь градусов сорок две точки триста тридцать шесть

BTW,  KK is not getting the coords before the cache is published. GPSr performance is not good in this area. You may have to widen your search to find the cache.

Поздравляем Брауна за первые семь найти.
