“Maw” was Catlady8’s Great-grandmother who, along with her Great-grandfather, had established a long tradition of taking their family to Ocean City every year. They always stayed at SkyLine East, a small condo complex on the boardwalk.Maw’s husband died several years ago but Catlady8’s Nan & Pap continued the tradition, bringing the family, including Maw, to OCMD & SkyLine East...the memories continued!! Maw passed last year at the age of 92 after one last summer in OCMD. We returned this year but, as you can imagine, things just aren’t the same. It’s the end of an Era we wanted to commemorate with a Geocache
This town and this building hold a special place in our hearts. Catlady8's mother came down year after year with her grandparents (Maw & Pap), her parents, brother, aunt, uncle and cousins. Then Catlady8 was born and the tradition continued. Catlady8 is now a teenager and will soon be off to college. Maw has passed & this might well be the last year we stay at Skyline East. It is quite sad but at the same time the memories bring lots of smiles & laughs!! We'd love to read your memories, experiences, stories of OCMD in the posts (the cache would only accommodate a small notebook).
The cache is a small camo container. It is slightly off the boardwalk but still ample muggle potential, especially from the hotel balconies across the street. Once found, please, please note how it is positioned and replace exactly as you found it. Label towards Skyline East building – you’ll see what we mean. Tuck it back in & down, thanks.
There is a FTF certificate and a little treasure for first one there. We actually placed this during Sunfest weekend 2013 but were so preoccupied with finding a suitable spot that we forgot to grab the coords. Thanks to Nan & Pap for getting them on a recent return trip to the beach!!
