This cache is at the Kinlough Melvin Orchard & Gardens Project and brings you to one of the beautiful pier locations along the shores of Lough Melvin. There is also a small play and picnic area at this location so it is ideal for families.
The Multicache procedure is as follows:
- Park in the carpark beside the initial "Stage 1" co-ordinates. The given starting co-ordinates are also the head of the trail you are going to walk down.
- At "Stage 1", make note of the following:
{Number of power lines overhead = P}
{Number of feet on line mast = Q}
- The "Stage 2" co-ordinates are at:
[N54 26.(2xQ)(P+2)(Q-2) W008 16.(P)(2xQ)(3xP)].
- At "Stage 2" Waypoint, make note of the following:
{Number of tables = A}
{Number of Seats = B}.
- The "Stage 3" co-ordinates are at:
[N54 26.(2xB)(A-A)(2xB) W008 16.(B)(A-A)(A-A)]
- At "Stage 3" Waypoint, make note of the following:
{Year on the plaque = WXYZ}.
- The "Cache Location" co-ordinates are at:
[N54 26.(Y)(Z)(P) W008 16.(B)(Y-W)(X-B-P)]
Walk up the laneway from "Stage 3" and a little way up, you will see the new orchard on the right. You can go through the gate there to go towards the cache!
The cache is a small medical sample container and may be a little hard to find with GPS signal being dodgy under the trees. The clue may help however!!
