Having recently been working on the Ski Utah Challenge, I realized how few caches there were at Solitude relative to other ski resorts, particularly ones that could be accessed by skiers. Although I placed this cache while hiking, I know I've skied right past this spot on previous occasions. In the summer, it provides a beautiul view of Lake Solitude. In the winter you have a lovely view of a big white spot.
After averaging for 10 minutes I still could not get 100% accuracy on the coordinates. When I tried to navigate back to them, I was 8 feet away while touching the cache. Due to cloud cover, tree cover, and being surrounded by high granite walls, neither mine nor your GPS is going to read perfectly here. You are looking for a pine tree just a little taller than me about 6 ft. Keep in mind, I was standing on the ground when making that measurment. If you are looking for this cache in the winter, you might be looking for a tall shrub.
The container is attached to the tree. Please open it and remove the log; don't try to remove the container. If there's snow on the tree, please brush it off BEFORE opening the container so it does not fall in.
Have fun!
