The trail system that meanders Pippy Park has long been known for natural beauty and surprisingly scenic vistas. Lately, however, an eerie gloom has settled over the gentle hills and a once serene setting has been permeated with a vague feeling of uneasiness. Reports of spectral encounters and rumours of an unspeakable history have been revealed in hushed whispers by hikers that have vowed never to return to the area. Haunted by these tales of woe, we have been strangely compelled to set aside our own feelings of trepidation and hide a series of seven caches in anticipation of the coming All Hallows’ Eve.
With the explicit understanding that we take no responsibility for elevated heart rates, spine related tingles, or diabolical spirit possession, we invite fellow cachers to steel themselves and bravely venture to this dark place and seek our hide.
Due to unforeseen circumstances the previous incarnation of our little friend Tom had to be archived. He was leading cachers a little too close to prime hunting territory… we should have clued in then.
But the seemingly sprite-like nature of the mischievous little fellow fooled us and we moved him here.
Tom wasn’t happy about the move. It changed him.
Or maybe this ominous place changed him.
