No more pencils, no more books.
H.H. Langford was the second of the public schools in Napanee to close at the end of the 2011-2012 school year. It’s students went to the new Southview school in the fall, although the Kindergarten students spent the first couple of months of the following year there until primary construction was actually completed.
A little playground equipment remains, as do a few benches and the slowly rusting backstop for the baseball diamond, but not much else. The kids ride different buses to a different school now.
This is the second in what might become a series of caches for Former Schools of Napanee. Everyone has memories, good and bad, of the public schools they and their children attended. Please feel to post new or old pictures of the school and its grounds.
The cache is a small screwtop container and very easy to find. The spot is wheelchair accessible, though the cache may be harder to get to in winter, particularly with more than a little snow on the ground. Parking is easy as the small school lot almost never has cars in it anymore or you can park in the bus lane with very little fear of a school bus sneaking up behind you.
Congratulations to coman123 on the First To Find!
