Camp Bob Hardin at the Palmetto Scout Reservation is the camp for Palmetto Council, BSA, which is headquartered in Spartanburg, SC. The Council serves the following counties in SC: Lancaster, York, Chester, Union, Cherokee, and Spartanburg. The camp was originally built as Camp Palmetto in 1944. Camp Palmetto was closed after the 1982 summer camp season, and the property underwent a million dollar upgrade. The camp reopened as Camp Bob Hardin in time for the 1985 summer camp season. The camp has been the temporary home of tens of thousands of Scouts and Scouters over the years. The camp now boasts miles of mountain biking trails, miles of hiking trails, a climbing tower, a zip line and high ropes course, a water slide, and much more. Camp Bob Hardin is also the home of Skyuka Lodge 270 of the Order of the Arrow (OA). The OA is Scouting's national honor society. Also consider finding the originial CBH geocache which is located just outside of camp.
