Catch The Bug Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Konza Coyote: After releasing several TBs only to have all of them go missing, I am archiving this cache. It's sad, and often difficult world for the lonely TB.

Geocache Description:

THIS CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES!!

I modeled this cache after a cache in Wichita named The Great FTF Hunt [ http://coord.info/GC2GM4Y] After all, cachers in Manhattan are always up for a good cache, and a good hunt, right?

To make Catching The Bug easier, here are the rules:

To get your smiley you must:

  1. Find the Bug [There are two: Catch the Bug and Bug Catcher One.] and get the coordinates to this cache.
  2. Immediately log a note on this page stating that you took the Bug. This step is important to let other bug hunters know when the bug has left its hiding spot.
  3. Move the bug to a different cache within the Manhattan area within 15 days. The Manhattan area for this game has these boundaries: North, Univeristy Park, South, I 70, West the Fort Riley Border; and East, Green Valley Road
  4. When you log your find for that cache, state obviously or deviously that the froggie is in that cache.
  5. Go to the coordinates listed on the Bug, sign the log, and log this cache.

Bug hunting don'ts:

  • Don't bring the Bug to an event. (It must go in a cache.)
  • Don't tell anyone the coordinates to this cache. (You have to have been in possession of the bug and move it to another cache in order to get a smiley.)
  • Don't tell anyone where you left the bug (except in your log of the cache where you left it).
  • Don't hold onto the bug for more than 15 days.
  • Don't place the bug in a puzzle cache.
  • Don't place the bug in a cache with a terrain greater than 3.
  • Don't place the bug in a cache you have found in the past. [I know some of you have found every cache in the area, and for those that have, that's ok.]
  • Don't place the bug in a cache that you own.
  • Don't place the bug in a cache outside the Manhattan area. (Out of area cachers are welcome to move the bug, just please don't forget to leave him in the Manhattan area before traveling home!)
  • Don't place the bug in a TB Hotel.

What happens if you are with another cacher when youcatch the bug? Only one cacher at a time can have and then move the bug. The older (in age) cacher will take possession of the bug.

Don't forget your nets! Have fun!
