Furnace Dam park has been our family "haunt" for as long as we've lived in the area. We spend many hours playing, watching the birds, taking pictures of the sunsets here. The park was even more beautiful several years ago when the willows were allowed to grow over the pond and grass, but they were all trimmed back to discourage birds nesting there. It worked, sadly.
For many years, my child-friendly cache had been found over and over, but due to new park clean-up procedures, the hiding spot was becoming less friendly (poison ivy!) and the cache was easily muggled. Finally in late summer 2013, it was gone for good. http://coord.info/GC1NHGV
I knew re-using the spot would just result in the same problem, so I hope that this new hide in a new spot will provide:
- Another excuse to visit the park
- another "Smilie" for the local Cachers
- a challenging search for people
- a fun day out in a small park you may not have known about before
The park is open only DAWN to DUSK. No pets are allowed, but strollers and wheelchairs are, and both can easily access the cache. Please rehide as good or better than found, use stealth, and help keep this one from being muggled! :)
