Geocache Description:

A nice walk not far from the car park here. Quite a lot of noise from the A31 but still a lovely view down into the valley.

Great one for people who's dogs like the water as the pond is not too muddy but good enough for a good swim out to a thrown tennis ball.

This is a small cache in a clip locked box container, hidden at the base of a silver birch (I think, I'm sure I will be corrected if it isn't) inside a gorse bush.

To get to this location you can drive via Lyndhurst to Emery Down. Head for Stoney Cross which is signposted. As you start to approach the A31, there is a forestry commission car park on the left called 'Andrews Mare'. Drive down the track and park at the end in the car park. At the west end of the car park there is a wooden barrier and a track, obviously used by vehicles from time to time, which you should follow. When you reach the pond, just look for the tree with the gorse bush at its base.

Cache placed in accordance with the GAGB New Forest guidelines. Please note there is no night caching allowed in the New Forest.
