A belated Thanksgiving cache for my Canadian Caching Friends ...
Extending out into Leigh's Bay is a breakwater; it was originally constructed to protect the sea plane base for the planes owned by Algoma Steel. On the shore close to the model airfield is a concrete slab. This slab was once the floor of the hanger for the sea planes.
At the end of this breakwater, tucked snuggly against the base of a tree and right on the shore line is a cache.
Access to this cache is the reason for the high terrain rating. Access by canoe or kayak is the intended approach. There may be a land approach possible, but certainly not when the planes are flying. The surrounding land is owned by the City of Sault Ste. Marie and through an agreement with the city, the Soo Modellers Radio Control Club have it leased.
