Past, Present, Future: A Geocaching in Space Event Event Cache

Jeder Geocacher, der ein Geocaching Event am November 6. oder 7.November 2013 besucht, wird ein

"Geocaching in Space Souvenir"

für sein Geocaching-Profil von Groundspeak bekommen.

Die Mission soll planmäßig am 7.November um 4:08 GMT aus Kasachstan starten. Der Countdown zum Raketenstart ist für 5:08 Uhr mitteleuropäischer Zeit geplant.
Da viele wohl wenig Zeit haben, wollen wir uns Abends
um 20:00 Uhr
auf dem BurgerKing PP auf der Lauterer Höhe treffen.
Ich selbst bringe was zum schlürfen vom grünen Förster mit, wer Hunger haben sollte, kann gerne nebenan seinen Magen füllen.
Sollte das Wetter nicht mitspielen, es gibt dort genug zum Trocken bleiben :)

 

FTF auf der ISS

Außerdem wird Mastracho den FTF des Caches “International Space Station” loggen, denn obwohl dieser seit dem 14. Oktober 2008 versteckt ist und am 03. Februar 2010 vom Groundspeak Chef höchstpersönlich veröffentlich wurde, gab es wohl noch keinen geocachenden Astronauten der ihn hätte loggen wollen.

Im letzten Groundspeak Newsletter war folgendes zu finden:

Let’s add a little pizzazz and shout it by using all capital letters: “WE’RE GOING TO SPACE!” Yeah! A Geocaching Travel Bug® is hitching a ride with astronaut Rick Mastracchio straight to the International Space Station. The mission is currently scheduled to launch from Kazakhstan at 4:08 GMT on November 7, which is 5:08 a.m. in Berlin and November 6 at 8:08 p.m. in Los Angeles. (Convert to your time here.)

Rick will live aboard the ISS for 6 months. He plans to use the Travel Bug as a tool to teach students on Earth, in his home state of Connecticut, about geography and science. He’ll also earn the Solar System’s most elusive smiley and find the International Space Station geocache.

We’ll be following Rick the whole way, beginning at liftoff. Ready for some more pizzazz? Geocaching HQ will issue a Geocaching in Space souvenir to those who attend Event Caches during the launch.
