Geocache Description:

A cache between Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo.

The cache is a large micro.

This cache is located at Bridgend, the area where the villages of Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo are joined. Before the bridge was constructed, the only way to travel between the villages (without a long walk) was by boat.

Bridgend sometimes becomes flooded after periods of heavy rain and high spring tides. In the winter of 2012, the road became badly damaged and a wall collapsed into the river. Now, the damage can still be viewed in the form of marks on the road and the new wall.

Severe flooding occurred again on 05/02/2014. A wall again collapsed, this time on the opposite bank.
