Geocache Description:

The cache is at the Given coordinated, however, this is a Challenge cache and certain requirements must be met before you can log a find on this cache.

This Challenge requires you to log a find on 150 Challenge caches IN TEXAS before you log a find on this cache. This cache does not count as part of that total.

A challenge cache is a variation of a puzzle cache that enhances the geocaching experience.

A challenge cache requires that geocachers meet a geocaching-related qualification or series of tasks before the challenge geocache can be logged. The additional qualification or geocaching-related tasks are considered the basis of a challenge geocache, rather than Additional Logging Requirements (ALRs).

Challenge geocaches must contain the word "challenge" in the geocache name.

Some grandfathered Challenge caches do not contain “Challenge” in the title. “Geocaching Through the Years” is an example. They do qualify for this Challenge. Some caches that are not Challenge caches may contain the word “Challenge” in the title. The annual Texas Challenge Events and caches with “Texas Challenge” in the name that were placed for these annual events are examples that are not Challenge caches. They do not qualify for this Challenge. The Texas State Parks Geocache Challenges 2011 (Archived) & the 2013 Challenge (Archived) have several aspects to them that are not in compliance with the Guidelines for Challenges. They do not qualify for this Challenge .

This Challenge requires you to log a find on 150 Challenge caches IN TEXAS before you log your find for this cache. This cache does not count as part of the total.

1. Your finds on Challenge caches must be legitimate and approved by the owners of those caches.

2. You can not claim Challenge caches that you own.

3. Archived Challenge caches do count. Finds must be made before the cache was archived.

4. A Challenge cache that allows more than one Find still only counts as one Challenge no matter how many finds you have on it.

5. Make a list of your qualifying Challenge caches. Include the GC Code, The Name of the cache, and the Date you claimed the find. You may show your qualification list for this Challenge by any method you choose, but it must be a readable list. A Bookmark list is OK, but include your Found date for each cache. A GSAK screen shot is OK as long as the required info is included. You will probably need more than one screen shot to show them all, and still be readable.

A Checker has been created but it is not entirely accurate. It does not count Archived Challenges that you have found that can be counted toward your 150 Challenge Finds. If you have found 3 Archived Challenges and the Checker says you don't qualify because you have only 147 Challenge finds. That's a total of 150 and you qualify. List the 3 Archived in your log plus the 147 listed in the Checker.

The cache should be easy to find. Off-road Parking is available

Congratulations to Backwards Charlie from Austin on FTF.

NOTICE:

On October 23, 2021, We reached a record 1005 Challenge caches in Texas. A Bookmark list can only contain 999 caches. Therefore, I had to split it into two Bookmark lists. When Qualifying for either the 150 Challenges portion of this Challenge OR the Bonus 50%+1 portion of this Challenge, you may use caches from either or both Active TX Challenge Caches-P1 & Active TX Challenge Caches-P2.
Active TX Challenge Caches-P1 contains the majority of Challenge caches in Texas. It can be found on this page or at:
https://www.geocaching.com/plan/lists/BM26EPK
Active TX Challenge Caches-P2 contains all caches in the Longhorn Extreme Challenge GeoArt located on the south side of Dallas, TX. There are 224 Challenge caches in that GeoArt. Active TX Challenge Caches-P2 can be found on this page or at:
https://www.geocaching.com/plan/lists/BMAAZER

Bonus Coin

Due to changes in Groundspeak rules, you can no longer claim a second Smiley on this cache for the Bonus, but you can earn a FREE Challenging Challenge Challenge Geocoin. First you must sign the log and claim a find on the above 150 Challenges portion of this Challenge. Then you can continue working toward completing this Bonus portion.

You may claim a Coin on this cache if/when you have found more than half of the total Challenge caches on my Bookmarked lists of Active TX Challenge Caches P1 and P2.

Because of changes in Groundspeak rules, and the increase in the number of Challenge caches in Texas, this Bonus challenge has become increasingly harder to achieve. To acknowledge the increased difficulty of achieving this Bonus challenge, I have created and am awarding a FREE trackable Challenging Challenge Challenge Geocoin to the first 49 persons who complete the Bonus portion of this Challenge.

You may claim the Bonus Geocoin if/when you have found more than half of the total Challenge caches on my Bookmarked lists of Active TX Challenge Caches P1 and P2. You must show readable proof of your achievement. You can show proof by any means that I can read; A Bookmark list with dates found listed, A GSAK gpx file sent to me, Photos of your list with dates found, A text file of your list with dates found.

For the Bonus, you can not count Archived caches. You can only count the Challenge caches on my Bookmarked lists of Active TX Challenge Caches P1 and P2. BE AWARE: This is a Moving Target Bonus Challenge. When new Challenges are added to the list, The required 50%+1 number goes up. When Archived Challenge caches are removed from the list, the 50%+1 number goes down.

There is a Project GC Checker for the 150 Challenges portion of this Challenge which is not totally accurate. That Challenge Checker IS NOT VALID for this Bonus portion.
