Geocache Description:

Littlehampton Station

Geocache Description:

This is an easy nano cache, the difficulty is to find it without giving the game away. It is in a high Muggle zone.

There are only two sandy beaches along the South Coast and Littlehampton has one of them, no wonder then that this has been a popular seaside resort since Victorian times. The beach is wide and the sea is shallow, making it an ideal destination for children. In the days of yore, people arrived here by charabanc from surrounding destinations, but the railway was most favoured as it was the quickest and easiest way to travel from further afield and became affectionately known as The Bucket and Spade Line.

Of course people still come here by modern day coach for their day excusions and the large green area behind the beach is a favoured spot for picnics and is also a safe play area for everything from bat and ball to kite boarding.

Despite the ubiquitous motor car, the train is still very popular with day trippers and they can be seen traipsing through town every day throughout the summer season with their bags full of beach paraphernalia. The town itself may seem a little jaded in these recessionary times but the seafront more than makes up for that, and after all, that's what they come here for.

At the end of the day the trippers return to the station, some rather red and sunburnt, others with sand between their toes and sleepy kids, but all in all they have had a good day at Littlehampton travelling on The Bucket and Spade Line.

There was an earlier cache at the location made by The Coastway Cruisers, after their permission I replaced the cache.....enjoy the search
