Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Greenbrier Bike Trail Blitz, (GBTZ)

As I love using my bike for caching, coupled with the added benefit that this trail has some very peaceful and scenic spots, here’s a great way to get out here and just enjoy the beauty of a well-planned trail

This one you can pull right up too.. use care when you exit though ..there is traffic...

Blitz as I call it, is pretty much easy peazy. You will find most of the caches will fall into one of three categories. One some are designed to give you a mental break from your hard day at work so they will be very obvious as you approach the GZ.   Second, there’s some that are a” leg stretcher” so you have to get off your bike and walk (nothing far away so your bike is safe) and lastly, I know some of you like to really look for some challenging caches so there’s a couple of those “mind hunt” that are there as well. I’ve added a couple for large container (lock and locks) for the kids, just to mix it up a bit but mostly the caches are small without any swag.

Some tips:

  1. Nothing is so hidden that it cannot be found in under twenty minutes (granted so may take longer but …)
  2. Nothing is inside anyone property line, or inside any type of electrical box.
  3. You will need an extraction tool for most of the caches.
  4. Bring swag as some caches are big enough for that.
  5. No worries about holly bushes… (Who puts caches in them anyway?)
  6. The bike path is NOT a circle there may be times when you are ON the road OR  going to cross a road be careful (remember look both ways as Mom said)
  7. The path sometimes will split or come to three and four way intersects… all I can say is “Compass Mode”. Review the map before coming here.
  8. Some of the caches are off the concrete bike trail but a good bike will be fine, as you will mostly be riding over leaves, roots, and twigs.
  9. Bring a writing implement…
  10. Blitz should net you about 30 caches and I believe very do able in a day.
  11. The NO Trespassing signs are for the Greenbrier Country Club Golf Course. NO need for you to come near their property. Their boundary is clearly marked or a fence is in place.
  12. I live here in the Greenbrier area and YOU are guests of mine. Please be respectful of the property and trail.
  13. You can drive your car around to various spots if you don’t plan on biking. Just follow the appropriate signs stating where parking is not prohibited.
  14. Plenty of spots for taking a break (park benches) to rest if needed, or for a photo moment.
