ECP and I placed this camo'd nut jar while going after the final stage of a multi-cache by Iron Chef and Just a Short Walk. Iron Chef was one of the early adopters of GPS technology and Geocaching. We always go after his caches when we get the chance as they are pretty old hides, mostly being put out in 2000/2001.
After grabbing the final for "A SLO Up Alongside the 101", Evil Cow Pie and I headed over to the other side to take in the views. And what views they are!
Then, out of nowhere, we came upon a golf ball. A pristine golf ball. How the heck did that get way up here? Very strange. None-the-less it looked like a good spot for a cache... and it even suggested a name. Check out the golf ball, we stashed it inside the cache!
If you try for this cache you might want to click on the link above to the multi and grab it while you are up here - it's quite a climb! As tempting as bush-whacking straight up the mountain might appear, I would advise against it (though it is do-able, we came down that way). Rather, there is a trail on the other side starting near the dog park area. See the additional waypoints below for coordinates to the trailhead.
