This cache has been placed at Cooee Point Reserve.
The Reserve is now a campervan/motorhome and caravan friendly area that travellers can stay at. You can stay here free of charge for upto 5 nights. You will however need a permit from the Burnie City Council. Permits are available at the Burnie Maker's Workshop, locacted at Bass Highway.
There is plenty of room, and there is also fresh drinking water available as well as a dump point.
The use of tents is not allowed at the Reserve.
The area used to be an abattoirs and sale yards. The abattoir buildings are still standing but are slowly deteriorating, and the sale yards are still visible but no longer have fences surrounding them. We did try and find some information on the abattoir and sale yards but to no avail. If anyone is able to help us out with either some information or where we maybe able to find some we would be very appreciative.
Now onto the cache....We hope that you enjoy this cache with a twist, as we enjoyed setting it up. We wanted to make it a little different from than the standard find and log cache.
Please be careful with cache container, and PLEASE replace the cache and cammo as you find it, becasue the container will not last if the cammo is not replaced correctly.
You MUST sign the logbook before you log this cache as a find. LOGS WILL BE DELETED IF YOU DO NOT SIGN THE LOOGBOOK.
When you find the cache, you will understand why we have made the previous statement.
The cache does have a writing implement, but as always bring your own just incase.
