Geocache Description:

A chance to stroll around this lovely little Nature Reserve in the heart of Emsworth, and do something useful at the same time!

Meet at 10am on Sunday 24th November, at the Palmer's Road public car park in Emsworth.
The car park entrance can be found to the rear of a large convenience store (every little helps), just north of the A259 roundabout.
This is normally a Pay and Display car park, but is FREE on Sundays.

The idea of the Event is for attendees to spend an hour (or two) collecting and bagging all the litter that they can find in Brook Meadow Nature Reserve.
Please bring along some gloves, and wear clothing /footwear which is suitable for walking in long (and possibly wet) grass.
Rubbish "grabbers" and stout plastic sacks will be provided on the day.
Additionally, we may be asked to help move some trimmed bushes and general vegetation.

The given co-ordinates are for the South-Eastern corner of the car park, where a footpath leads off, across the River Ems, and into Brook Meadow itself.
Various interpretation boards are provided in this area to show some of the fauna and flora which may be visible.

Further details relating to Brook Meadow can be found at (visit link)

Both adults and children are very welcome to come along and lend a hand on the day.
You need to be aware that the River Ems is quite deep in places, and caution should be exercised when walking or working near its steep banks.
Dogs are welcome but should not be allowed to run near the river in order to avoid disturbing the resident Water Voles ( a highly protected species).

UPDATE
There is now a cache actually in the Nature Reserve called "Dog Brook" (visit link) and many others can be found nearby.
