This cache is a tribute to the mothers, fathers, grandparents, or just any caring person with a driver's license who's ever carted little ones back and forth to soccer fields like the ones here. My sons played soccer when they were young in a nearby town, not at this location. The memories, nonetheless, are the same: Rushing week-after-week to practices or games; hauling chairs for sitting; lugging soccer balls, shin guards, and water bottles.
I haven't needed to bring my sons to a soccer game in 5 years. They've trading their soccer cleats for bicycle helmets, scouting apparel, and, in the case of one son, geocaching gear! Still, every time I pass this location or other soccer fields, good memories return of soccer moments with my kids.
