Geocache Description:

Log will be Avail. from 6am the 6th till 12 midnight on the 7th. Log book will be on the porch. Sign the log and wave at the camera. Log will be Avail. most of the day but we will be sitting there around 5:30-6:00pm A Geocaching Travel Bug® is hitching a ride with astronaut Rick Mastracchio straight to the International Space Station. The mission is currently scheduled to launch from Kazakhstan at 4:08 GMT on November 7, which is 11:08 p.m. November 6 here in South Carolina.

Join us at for a social gathering of Cachers as Geocaching is heading towards the International Space Station (ISS)! 

Every geocacher who attends a Geocaching Event on November 6 or 7, 2013 will be awarded a “Geocaching in Space” souvenir.

 

Geocaching is heading towards the International Space Station (ISS).  A very special little Travel Bug® named TB5JJN1 is tagging along with NASA astronaut Rick Mastracchio on his mission to the ISS.  Mastracchio will be using the Travel Bug as an educational tool to help teach students around the world about geography and geocaching.  Mastraccio will Rocket into Space on November 7, 2013 (GMT).  Every geocacher who attends a Geocaching Event on November 6 or 7, 2013 will be awarded a “Geocaching in Space” souvenir.

Yep. There is a geocache located at the Russian Rocket Base in Central Asia close by. It is called Poyekhali(GCMGW9). It currently has 4 finds.
