Winklespruit is a small seaside resort north of the mouth of the Illovo River in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It forms part of eThekwini. On May 10, 1875 the schooner Tonga which was carrying wares for Durban was wrecked here. The sailors not wanting the cargo to go to waste set up a store on the river bank and sold the water damaged goods. The store was known by the Afrikaans as winkel (shop).
you can park at the suggested coordinates and then either walk along the beach and then up the dune or follow the top of the dune to GZ. If you want you can bring a bag along and do some CITO. This was a lovely walk through the pine trees but people have started dumping their rubbish all over the place.
Please be careful as there could be muggles. Not advisable at night. Bring the dogs for a walk on the beach.
