Geocache Description:

One meter and few inches of the sky

This cache will lead you to the Shatrinci Lake, near the village of Shatrinci. I hope you will be convinced that the Srem sky is few inches bigger than one meter…

Shatrinci (Hungarian Satrinca) is a village in the southeastern part of the Irig municipality in Srem, southern Vojvodina in Serbia. Shatrinci is a typical agricultural multiethnic Vojvodina village. According to the 2002 census, 399 people live in the village.

The Catholic church in Shatrinci

Shatrinci has two churches, Orthodox and Catholic , located in the same courtyard , next to each other. Isn’t it lovely and inspiring?

The Lake of Shatrinci lies about two kilometers north from Shatrinci. As many Vojvodina lakes it is used for fishing, swimming, making picnics…

Shatrinci Lake

The name for this cache was inspired by the name of a nearby restaurant, "A meter of sky" ("Metar neba"). However,I think that Srem sky is slightly larger then one meter, don’t you think so? On the way to the cache enjoy the view on the endless Srem fields...

The cache is a small glass jar with dark greem lid. Bring your pen, please!
