Geocache Description:

This cache used to be located in Black Rock, Melbourne - How Long? and was pprass’s entry for the “Fun & Exciting Caching Activity 2006”.
The competition was designed for kids so the idea was to create a cache that would be fun and exciting for kids – our cache sadly didn’t excite the kids that much, but the adults had some fun with it.

The first clue may be a bit tricky to locate, but a cacher with a sharp eye for detail should be able to work it out.

Note: There is absolutely no need to pull up anything to locate the first clue and please be gentle with the "string".

Location
The first WPT is located in a lovely peaceful park that not many people go to, or know about. The location can also be useful in solving the "Port Oddities" cache and as a matter of fact you will be at and pass by 3 of the "Oddities" while completing this cache.
The final is about 3 kms away and prior to December 1961 was where the Pacific Hwy crossed the river.

The Cache
How long is a piece of string? Never really understood this phrase because isn’t it as long as the one that you want/have? Just measure it. That’s how long it is!

So too with this cache – just measure the piece of string that you will find hidden at the posted co-ordinates (to the nearest 5 centimetres and please note that there is some stretch in the string which needs to be accounted for - but do not over stretch!). Once you have the length of the string, use it to calculate the final location of the cache.

Length = AB cm
Co-ords are: S31° 24.((AB x 3) + 20), E152° 51.((AB x 2) - 5)
Check sum: S = 24, E = 26

Please bring a tape measure unless you are good at working out lengths with your GPSr or fingers!
