Geocache Description:

The original New Waverley 2 cache that was close by became too difficult to find due to heavey bramble growth and has been replaced with this one. This is not therefore a NEW cache but a replacement

 

It helps keep the running order of the caches around the former opencast site that is rapidly developing into a haven for wildlife with birdwatchers ever present.
It is a shame that the new High Speed 2 railway will cut this area in half in a few years time, draining the lakes and wiping out all the nature gains after years of work.
No.2 isn't far from Waverley 1 so if you start this series at No.1 thro to Waverly 4 sticking to the red gravel paths around the site make this a pleasant walk underfoot even in bad weather.
