Apache's Cache Traditional Cache

This cache is placed in Oak Ridge Park, near an area where my parents would often bring Apache, or as we affectionately called him- "Patch Man" to leisurely stroll or romp down the paths. I am placing this cache in memory of Apache and to bring people to this area to enjoy the scenery like Apache surly did.

Apache's Cache

Apache was a regal looking male German Shepherd that my family and I raised for The Seeing Eye.  He was the grandson of Mambo, whom my father raised, and the son of Wayne, whom my mom raised. When Apache returned to The Seeing Eye for his formal training, in his medical evaluation tests the vets found some abnormalities with a blood test. It wasn't critical, just a marker as a carrier. But to play it safe The Seeing Eye thought it best to remove him from the program and my family adopted him as a pet.  
Unfortunately, that autumn Apache fell very ill very suddenly. He was eventually diagnosed with canine ITP - Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura. It is a rare autoimmune bleeding disorder where there is a sudden loss of platelets in the blood and bone marrow.  
Apache lost his battle on October 24, 2012. He was only a year and a half old.
