On November 6-7th, geocacher Rick Mastraccio (cacher tag "AstroRM"), will be journeying to the International Space Station, taking a trackable with him, the first ever to do so, and he'll be logging the famous cache on the station, GC1BE91. To commemorate the first official find of a non-terrestrial geocache, geocachers all over the world will be holding events to commemorate Geocaching.... IN SPACE.
To that end, we will be meeting for ice cream at Dairy Queen, followed by a viewing of the new film Gravity (Sandra Bullock, George Clooney), a film also set in space. If you log an event the day of the launch (November 6th or 7th), you even get a souvenir! So come out and join us for an evening of snacks, space, and souvenirs.
WHEN: November 6th, 8:00pm. (Gravity: 9:00pm)
WHERE: Dairy Queen. 501 Lyndhurst Alley, Savoy, IL 61874; followed by the Savoy 16 theater across the street.
