Passing throught the village of Meteghan you can point out in front of the emergency service,an old Acadienne house in the place where Frederic Robichaud,grand-son of Prudent Robichaud built his house in 1797-98.Frederic left Meteghan in 1832 to become one of the first inhabitants of Corberrie.
The old house was demolished in 1921,but in 1955 Adolphe Robichaud a descendant of Fredric had an idea to rebuild the house of his ancester. He found a house in Comeauville that looked like the one Frederic had built in 1797-98 and had been built at about the same time.He transported that house from Comeauville to Meteghan and put it on the foundation of the old house.
Adolphe wished this house be called the old house(la vieille maison)and become a museum. The old house had been open to visitors for a few Summers but on February 8 2002 the historical society had to give up the property to comply with a clause in the will of Adolphe, handed it back to his heir.
