AHHH the Warkworth receiving station. In 1985, this receiving station was used in the opening and closing scenes for the sci fi movie, "THE QUIET EARTH" starring the late Bruno Lawrence was shot at this location along with parts of downtown Auckland and various parts of the north Island. It was on our tour of the north island and on our way to the NZ 2013 Mega Event we stopped and found the nearby cache, Mr Flipper decided it was high time that a cache was placed here to to remember one of New Zealand's actors.
