[LAT] Madonas pirmais sporta laukums iekārtots divdesmito gadu vidū Dārza ielas labajā pusē tūlīt aiz dzelzceļa, tātad starp sliedēm un  tagadējo "Kuršu" būvmateriālu veikalu. Vieta izvēlēta pēc nākamās pilsētas plāna izstrādātāja Arnolda Maidela ierosinājuma, salīdzinoši netālu Rīgas ielas sākumā tolaik pamatskola un vidusskola. Iekārtots vienkārši – pamatā futbola laukums, tam gar malu skrejceļš, galā volejbola laukums un arī lekšanu bedres. Samērā drīz gan atzina, ka vieta ne īsti pareiza izvēlēta – tā zema, tur veidojas bieži migla, tuvējās ādu ģērētavas dēļ pulcējas putni.

Trīsdesmito gadu beigās bija iecere veidot sporta laukumu ieplakā Parka kalna pakājē starp Dārza ielas sākumu un Biržu ielu – Pumpura ielas vietā.

1945.g. 13.decembrī izvēlēta vieta stadionam piepilsētas mežā, tā sauktajās Prīlapa priedēs, kur iepriekš notika zaļumballes, brīvdabas izrādes. 1946. gada februārī no "Ančaugu" zemes tam atdalīti 5 ha platība, vēlāk piedalīts arī kāds hektārs no tā brīža zvērsaimniecības zemes, 1946.g. 19.decembrī apstiprināts stadiona projekts.

[ENG] Madona 's first sports ground created in the mid -twentieth Garden Street on the right side just behind the train , so between the rails and present "Kursi" building materials store. Place selected the next time the city plan developer Arnold Maidel proposal , relatively close to the beginning of Riga street where is elementary school and then high school . Created in a simple - basically, a football field , then along the edge of the runway , volleyball and all the jumping pit. Fairly soon admitted, though, that the place is not really the correct choice - so low, there is formed a thick fog , fur workshops in the nearby birds congregate .
At the end of the thirties it was intended to build a sports field in a hollow of the Park foothill between beginning of Garden Street and Birzi Street  - Pumpura street instead.
1945 December 13 stadium site chosen in the suburban wood, the so-called Prilapa pines , where previously held open-air party , open-air performances . In 1946. in February " Ančaugu " ground to separate 5 ha area , then participate in a hectare of land that moment on fur farms , 1946 December 19 approved the stadium project . 1948 May 26, the first joint work in Madona district sports stadium. His dumped 400 pines. First decade stadium hosts the song festivals, political rallies and other festive events because bandstand was opened in 1960.
