Fort McAllister Historic Park is located on the banks of the Ogeechee River, this scenic park showcases the best-preserved earthwork fortification of the Confederacy. Nestled among giant live oaks, Spanish moss and salt marsh, this park is a beautiful location for camping, fishing, boating and picnicking. It is also part of Georgia’s Colonial Coast Birding Trail so bring a picnic, experience the park’s history, and see the wildlife on the nearby nature trail.
This cache was placed to commemorate the Georgia Geo-Campers Event that was held here November 9, 2013. FTF rights will be granted to anyone who attends the event and finds the cache during the event.
You are looking for an ammo can that is hidden just inside the wood line. Cache is located just inside the main entrance gate approximately 25 feet into the woodline. Please be respectful of the animal and plant life and be sure to Leave No Trace behind except for your footsteps and take nothing but memories and perhaps some swag from the container. So grab a park map and just follow your GPS receiver!
