In this cemetery is the grave of Anna Dalander, recognized as the leader of the first Swedish immigrants to settle in this area, Sep 14 1846.
It is now the combined Dalander, Elk Rapids and Cole cemeteries. It is the burial place for original settlers of this area. Bodies of those buried in Elk Rapids and Cole cemeteries were moved to Dalander in 1973.
