Jay Weatherill has been premier of SA since 2011. In his few years as premier he has put a lot of money into Adelaide's train network in order to woo voters for the upcoming 2014 election. The most significant improvements have been the electrification and extension of Noarlunga line.
Now, on to this cache!
Click here to download the Wherigo cartridge. (note that I don't think it will work on Garmin Nuvi devices)
I would recommend that you complete Mike's Trams first. Similar to that one this is a puzzle where you need to decipher hints to the correct train stations and then go there. There are a few differences though...
1. It is quite a bit longer and lot more kms will have to be travelled
2. The hints are more factual and less cryptic (and hopefully easier)
3. Several old, long closed and mostly demolished stations are included
4. I have provided some historic info at each stage so hopefully this one is more interesting to do
Good Luck!
Some updates as of 2021
There have been some changes to the train network since this cache was created in 2013. The wherigo has not been changed so you will need to think about how it was in 2013 when working out the hints to stations. Since 2013 the extension to Flinders has been built, so this station is not included in the whergio. One of the hints is to a station closed in 1995 however this station has now re-opened. One of the hints references a level crossing in a unusual location, this level crossing is still there but no longer operates (and the cache near it has been archived).
