October 14, 2013, Pitcher plant Traditional Cache

This is another cache in the October series with a bonus for the cacher. This short hike offers the cacher nice scenery and chance to possibly see some the varied wildlife in the game lands.

Sarracenia flava. Yellow Pitcher-plant

This Is Not quite a park afnd grabs but it is easy enough to help keep a streak going. This area was once a sand pit. Too bad someone has made a dumping ground near the parking area. Not a requirement, but if so inclined help CITO this unfortunate happening. Please read the disclaimer below, some very important information is provided.

Remember to use caution and safety any time you are out caching. This area of North Carolina has many critters, creatures and plants that are just not as hospitable as other denizens in this fair county. Poison ivy/oak, ticks, mosquitoes, deer flies, fire ants, briars, and snakes are common. In the words of the late Cajun Cook Justin Wilson, "I am a safety engineer by trade; I wear a belt and suspenders." Proper clothing for the area should be worn. This may include long pants, long sleeves, and if you ignore the hunting season warning, wear BLAZE ORANGE.
